After demolition of the existing LIRR facilities, this new construction was built as part of the Jamaica Transportation Corporation’s program of Intermodal Enhancements for the Jamaica Transportation Center. This $13 million project transformed a series of loading docks under the LIRR viaduct underpass into 11,000 SF of retail shops and 13,000 SF of improved facilities for the Long Island Railroad employees.

In addition to the retail and employee facility the sidewalk was developed to provide an inviting connection between the future developments along 94th Avenue to the South and the Retail/Commercial area to the North. F&S Contracting coordinated, furnished and installed a one of the kind curved architectural exterior ceiling canopy with state of the art LED lighting elements. Additionally, F&S installed all concrete sidewalks, curbs and fencing.
